Update - Sura now has a liquor license
Located
at the corner of Douglas and Fisgard St, Sura is a shining new addition
to the Korean dining scene. The decor is a little sparse and the liquor
license forthcoming, but the food is great and the selection right up
my alley - with faves like table top bbq, jigae (spicy soup) and
bibambop (rice topped with veggies, meat, egg and covered with broth).
We
had the bbq combo A for 2, good value at $39.95: dumpling soup, fried
dumlpings, a variety of Korean side dishes (including the my all time
favourite, candied potatoes) and selection of prepared meats to bbq on
the table top grill. The Kalbi ribs which are similar to Maui style
sibe were the highlight, but the selection of marinated pork, chicken
and beef were all tasty. Served with rice and lettuce to make wraps, as
well as a selction of condiments.
Patty and I were all full up, but with plans to return for their lunch menu and to check up on the liquor license situation.
