Did I ever find a gem! We passed by Triskell as we drove aimlessly around Parksville. Despite fairly low profile signage it caught my eye and I had good feeling. We made a reservation and headed out. The menu was right up my alley - pure French. When I saw the rabbit on the menu,  I got even more excited.

Very early on in our visit, we discovered that the owners of Triskell used to own La Ville D'ys, a French restaurant that was located in Bastion Square in Victoria about twenty years ago. Coincidentally, it's where I had my first Crepe Suzette. We shared some good laughs about the ol' days with our hosts Francoise and Michel and the trials and tribulations of owning a restaurant with your spouse.

The wine list was limited, but had some great value vintage Bordeaux, so Patty and I quickly made up a reason to celebrate to justify the purchase. Our food was unpretentious and classic in presentation. At the end of the night we were even invited into the kitchen for a crepe making demonstration.

Having eaten at some of the resorts in Parksville, I was delighted to find Triskell. While the resorts have a higher level of aesthetic and menu sophistication, the old school French food and friendly atmosphere at Triskell, made our trip.
